It’s estimated that a programmable thermostat can reduce cooling costs up to 25%. Leave it up to your thermostat to turn down the heat when you’re away and bring it back up to your preferred temperature when you’re home.

If your HVAC system requires constant repairs, is 15 years or older, or can’t heat or cool your home properly, we recommend you replace it. When an HVAC system ages, it doesn’t operate as efficiently and could actually end up costing you more money than it should.

Your air filters should be replaced every one to three months depending on usage. This is vitally important to the performance of your HVAC systems and your indoor air quality. We offer filters that don’t need to be changed for a year!

There are four main parts to every HVAC system. The furnace utilizes natural gas or oil to heat the air. The air conditioner cools the air and is found outside of the house. It uses electricity and coolant liquid to reduce the temperature of the air, while sending hot air outside and cold air inside.

Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratios are used to indicate how efficiently an air conditioner or heat pump will operate during the cooling season. A higher SEER rating means greater efficiency.

It is normal for an air conditioner to produce condensation when it runs. This water should flow out of your home through a drain line; however, the line can become clogged with debris or a leak can develop in the drain pan. This can allow the condensation to pool around the system. You should call an HVAC professional if you notice this occurring since it can cause water damage and allow mold and mildew to grow.

R-22 refrigerant and equipment are being phased out. It is intended to reduce the impact on ozone. As time passes, replacement parts and refrigerant for old R-22 units will become harder to find and more expensive, so replacing your unit now can save you some headaches in the future.

Low refrigerant can cause your system to freeze up. Over time, wear and tear to your system can result in leaks that cause the system to lose refrigerant. When your unit loses refrigerant, it causes the system to freeze up because of low pressure inside the system. In this case a pro would go to your home and perform a leak search so that we can address this and get it fixed.
